Religion

We think that religion is for people that can't belive in themselves, they need to think that there is some kind of superior force that decides everything that happened, happens, and will happen to them. They pray to it in order to get miracles, things that are very unlikely to happen.
As an institution, the catholic church, specifically, they always want to make money, even though they have a lot. The priest usually are people that only look for themselves, they don't care about their followers. It is known that there a lot of priests and clerics that do things that their religion told them not to do, like being involved in sexual abuses.
In 1962, the pope John XXIII, signed a document that says that any victim of sexual abuses should keep the information hidden and not tell anybody, if not, they could be excommunicated (ejected from the institution).

Their sacred book, the bible, has a lot of machism in it, for example:

Genesis 3:16: "To  the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

Lastly, we think that religion as an institution is useless to our society. We wrote about catholic church because we think it is  the most recognizable religious institution. Also we think it is unfortunate that so many people need to believe there is a god, because it means that all the things they prayer for can't be done by human people and has to be done by a god, but, obviously, those things are always accomplished by human beings.
